It's been four years since the point of divergence from the White Orchid Timeline. Doctor Eggman has died suddenly, leaving a grieving family to figure out how to run the Empire in his absence.
This is a fan-story inspired by the Sonic franchise, and has no affiliation with SEGA. It would be considered an Alternate Universe due to major discrepancies with the lore presented in official media. It is primarily told through an ask blog on Tumblr, @NeoBadnik.

Once hailed as Dr. Eggman’s greatest creation, Xenon is prideful and prefers to do things xenself so xe can be sure it's done right. Xe acts cold with everyone, but also seems to have remarkable patience – especially for the people xe cares about. The quickest way to anger xen is to dismiss xer individual personhood.

Currrently next in line for the throne, acting as the substitute admin of the EggNet. He is very prone to stress, which can make him irritable. Despite that, his first instinct always seems to be de-escalation.

Fun fact: His vulpine form was loosely based on Tails due to jealousy he held when he was very new. Despite growing out of that, he remained attached to the design.

Cubot is very playful and free-spirited. He has a hard time focusing on things that don't interest him, and tends to come off as unmotivated. Things they do like can highlight their surprising level of skill. She still has issues with thinking for herself, unfortunately. It's opted out of the running for leader; it doesn't think it's cut out for that.

The first Metal Sonic and oldest running badnik, Shard has dedicated his existence to being a better hero than Sonic. He was made with Sonic's biodata and was left to rust after his first failure because Eggman found him annoying. He was later found and repaired by Tails at Sonic's request.

Fun fact: He tries to be a good role model for heroic robots, as well as an example of them to the organic masses, who tend to associate even peaceful robots like Belle with violent, Eggman-loyal badniks.

World-renowned for his skill with mechanics, but he's still more renowned as his brother's "sidekick". He's getting sick of saving the world. He would really rather have peace to work on his projects. But he can't just ignore a call for help. He'd never forgive himself if something bad happened and he could've stopped it.
